Logline
A same-sex couple navigates heartbreak and hardships after ending a five-year relationship while still living together.
Synopsis
The story follows Jake, a writer in his late 20’s, and Brent, his supportive partner. They have been together for 5 years and are engaged, but Jake finds himself faced with a dilemma - stay in a relationship where he isn’t happy or take time to focus on himself and follow his dreams.
Mission Statement
Our goal is to showcase the complexity and similarities of LGBTQ+ relationships and connect with audiences through the ways we are similar rather than different. Relationships are beautiful, messy and downright hard. The ups, downs, vulnerability and emotions that we experience in relationships exist despite sexuality, race, gender or any other dividing factor.
After going through a breakup myself, I realize the importance of telling LGTBQ+ stories to help shed light on their voices and struggles through the human connection.
Impact
- The film tackles relationship struggles such as cheating, communication styles, lack of effort and one sidedness.
- Over 400 anti-LGBTQ+ bills have been proposed in 2023. Representation and Equality are important now more than ever.
- Over 75% of the cast and crew are from underrepresented BIPOC and LGBTQ+ communities.
